I use HyperSnap only occasionally, so don't keep it running all the time, and I almost always want text snapshots. Should would be nice to have a :text suboption on the -snap parameter.

It would not work that way. HyperSnap must be started and running, at least minimized to the task-bar or tray icon, for its text capture software components to be loaded and ready for capture. I have some semi-supported command line utility for tekst capture, but it only works if HyperSnap is started and running in the system.

Hello NoTr

I did it using these process. Work perfectly using Windows XP.

1- Start Hypersnap and select all option that you need, specialy your hotkey selection
2- save your configuration in the Option sub-menu
3- using a command line, start Hypersnap in hidden mode. To do it: Look in the advance help section. Search for command line

4- Now, when needed, use your textsnap pre-selected hotkey to do your process. Et voila...
